My watercolors are painted on Arches 100% cotton paper, in a transparent style layering color over color. Art is about breaking rules, so on rare occasions I will use gouache, glitter, acrylic, or pastel to achieve the desired effect.
I paint the focal point realistic so it can be easily identified, and leave some of the painting abstract so the viewer can participate in the decision of what things are.
